Antalya International Airport Extension Project New Fuel farm and JET A-1 Fuel Hydrant System

Within the scope of the Antalya International Airport Expansion Project undertaken by the TAV İNŞAAT-SERA YAPI Joint Venture, the construction of a new fuel farm with a capacity of 85,000 m3 and the expansion of the existing hydrant system, which will be operated by POTAŞ AKDENİZ AKARYAKIT DAĞITIM A.Ş., were tendered to our company ORDİNAT in 2022.

Within the scope of this EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project, basic and detailed engineering works, mechanical piping works, equipment installations, electrical-instrumentation works were completed at the beginning of 2025 and all systems were put into service.

As part of the project;

- The new tank farm with 2 JET A-1 storage tanks with a capacity of 20.000m3 and 3 JET A-1 storage tanks with a capacity of 15.000m3 (total 85.000m3) was constructed in accordance with API 650, EI 1540, NFPA and relevant JIG Standards.

- In addition, a total of 4 ea. horizontal cylindrical tanks with a capacity of 50m3, 2 ea. for SLOP and PRODUCT RECOVERY and 2 ea. for AVGAS storage were manufactured and installed.

- 8 ea. hydrant pumps with a capacity of 275m3/h, 2 ea. tanker unloading pumps with a capacity of 60m3/h, 2 ea. tanker loading pumps with a capacity of 125m3/h, 2 ea. AVGAS pumps with a capacity of 60m3/h, 1 ea. product recovery pump with a capacity of 50m3/h, 19 ea. filters/water separators and 2 ea. microfilters were supplied and installed.

- For the fire protection system of the plant, one fire water tank with a capacity of 3,500m3, 3 ea. diesel fire water pumps with a capacity of 800m3/h, 2 ea. electric pumps with a capacity of 100m3/h, one foam preparation skid with a variable flow rate of up to 30,000lt/min and other equipment and pipework were supplied and installed.

In the scope of the extension of the existing hydrant system;

- A total of 22.000m of 16", 14", 12", 10" diameter main pipe, 2.000m of 6" branch pipe supplied and installed.

- 34 tie-in connections with diameters of 16”-14”-12” were made to existing active underground fuel hydrant pipelines.

- 190 ea. of hydrant pits, 30 ea. of high point pits, 20 ea. of low point pits, 2 ea. of tanker filling pits were supplied and installed.

- In 19 new valve chambers, 47 ea. double block bleed valves with electric actuator and 67 ea. actuator/gearbox operated gate valves with diameters of 16", 14", 12", 10" were supplied and installed.

Also the cathodic protection (CP) of hydrant system, emergency shutdown system (ESD), leak detection of hydrant system, installation of the fuel automation system and all electrical works such as earthing, lighting, lightning protection etc. in the fuel farm and valve chambers were completed in the scope of works of project.
